If you would like to turn on Javascript for this page:

If you use Firefox:

Select Tools>Options to bring up the Options window
Select the Content tab
Click the Enable Javascript box
Click OK to close the Options window
Hit F5 to refresh this webpage (assuming you're still on this web page)

If you use Internet Explorer:

Select Tools>Internet Options to bring up the Internet Options page
Select the Security tab
Click on the Internet Zone (the picture of the globe)
Click on the Custom level... button to bring up the Security Settings window
Scroll down to Scripting (near the bottom)
Set Active scripting to Enable to enable Javascript
Click OK then close the Internet Options window
Hit F5 to refresh this webpage (assuming you're still on this web page)

Welcome to my Photo Showcase page, where you have access to hundreds of my pictures, primarily underwater. The selection box(es) on the left allows you to choose how to access my pictures (starting off by year or by critter).

When you make a selection there, another selection box will appear allowing you to select either a specific year or a critter group (for example, bony fish or anemones). You will then either receive a set of thumbnail images on the left or a third selection box will appear (plus thumbnails from the first selection). Although this sounds quite clunky as I describe it in words, it works in practice.

Thumbnails

Mouse over a thumbnail and that image will appear as the main image.
Click on a thumbnail and a larger version of the image will be displayed in a separate window.
If you hover over a thumbnail, it will show you the critter name and the dive site where I took the photo

Click on the main image and a larger version will be displayed in a separate window.
If you hover over the main image, it will show you the critter name and the dive site where I took the photo

Hints and Tips

For the full effect, maximise your browser window and scroll down the page so the headings are hidden and the page contents (the selection box(es), thumbnails, and main image) are fully visible.
In the thumbnail section, use the roller-ball on the mouse to scroll down the thumbnails.
As a thumbnail appears under the mouse pointer, the main image will change to that image.
If the critter name and dive site information doesn't appear, move the mouse slightly and that information should then appear.
